At approximately 10:25 pm, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a cab driver having been sprayed with a sensory irritant in the 100 block of Pinecrest Dr, Dartmouth. The suspects were described a man and woman who had fled the area after the assault. On arrival HRP patrol members obtained information and searched the area for the suspects. A man, who matched the given description was seen in the area and attempted to flee from police on foot. The 23 year old man, from Dartmouth, was arrested after a short foot chase and will face charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, fraud by fares (taxi) and breach of court orders, he will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday December 5th. A short time later, HRP patrol officers located the female suspect in the same general area of the offence. A 19 year old woman, from Dartmouth, was arrested without incident and will face charges of fraud by fares (taxi), she will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
