Just after 9:30 p.m. last Tuesday, a 20-year-old man was sitting in his vehicle by the Scotiabank in the parking lot of the Village Centre plaza when a group of males drove into the parking lot in a Volvo sedan.
The driver of the Volvo and a passenger got out of the car, at which point the passenger made eye contact with the man sitting in his vehicle. Words were then exchanged. The passenger then walked over to the vehicle and stabbed the man, who was still seated, in the chest.
The suspect then fled the scene with his friends.
The victim managed to walk to the Tim Horton’s where he collapsed. He was taken to hospital and was in serious condition. The stabbing track missed vital organs and the victim is recovering.
The suspect was arrested by HRP’s Integrated General Investigation Unit at about 10:30 p.m. Friday night without incident at a Halifax residence. He is in custody and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Youth Court today.
