Temporary Reduced Alderney Ferry Service Starts Sept. 8

Tuesday, Sept.

2, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that beginning on Monday, Sept. 8, ferry service at the Alderney terminal will be temporarily reduced to one vessel operating every 30 minutes.

The reduced service is due to one of Halifax Transit’s four harbour ferry vessels going in for scheduled maintenance. The vessel is expected to be out of service until the end of November. The public will be notified when it returns to regular service.

During this time, vessels departing from Alderney will leave at the top of the hour and 30 past, while vessels leaving the Halifax terminal bound for Alderney will leave at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. The Woodside ferry will continue operating on its regular schedule.

The municipality and Halifax Transit regret any inconvenience this scheduled maintenance may cause our passengers.
