Temporary stop sign installation at Cobequid/Windsor Junction roads intersection

Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that an all-way stop will be temporarily installed this week at the Cobequid/Windsor Junction roads intersection.

Municipal traffic analysts have been monitoring traffic flow at this intersection since work began earlier this month on the McQuarrie Bridge replacement project.

The intersection at Cobequid Road and Windsor Junction Road is a major part of the official detour in place while the McQuarrie Bridge is out of commission. As a result, traffic volume along this stretch has increased. The temporary stops signs are expected to help address the recent congestion. The signs will be removed when the McQuarrie Bridge project concludes later this month.

The municipality asks for extra caution in the area as motorists become accustomed to the new traffic control measures.
