The Making of a Mystery – A Guest Lecture by Dr. Brad Kelln

One of the best parts of my job is getting to sit in on programs that I might not otherwise have the chance to attend. I’ve been very fortunate this year to sit in every Friday to the MSVU lecture series “The Making of a Mystery” presented by Dr. Patricia Gouthro. I have faithfully been taking notes through the lectures and am thrilled to get an insider’s view on what makes a good mystery. When Dr. Gouthro is unable to attend she has arranged for a guest speaker to fill in for the afternoon. This week our guest speaker is Dr. Brad Kelln.

Dr. Kelln received a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Calgary in 1998 and relocated to Nova Scotia to pursue a career in forensic work and began with the Provincial Forensic Psychiatry Service of the Nova Scotia Hospital. Dr. Kelln continues to work as a clinical and forensic psychologist with the East Coast Forensic Hospital and also as a special consultant to both the Halifax Regional Police and the Nova Scotia RCMP on hostage negotiation. When he’s not busy at work, he writes chilling mysteries such as Lost Sanity, Method of Madness and his most recent In Tongues of the Dead.

For a whole new take on “The Making of a Mystery” join Dr. Brad Kelln this Friday, March 11 at 1:30 pm at Keshen Goodman Library.
