The Odd Life of Timothy Green and An Interview with Jennifer Garner

We are excited as The Odd Life of Timothy Green is out in theaters tomorrow. From what I have seen the movie really is a modern day drama about the joys and sorrows of parenthood. It is a heartwarming movie that brings an emotional rollercoaster. If you are going to see it bring the kleenex.

The story is based on a book by children’s author Ahmet Zappa. The movie stars and starts out with Cindy (Jennifer Garner ) and Jim Green (Joel Edgerton, from Animal Kingdom) learning that they can’t have a child. The make a wish list for their dream child which they then bury in the garden and later that night during a storm, Timothy (C J Adams, from Hedges’ Dan In Real Life) a wonderful 10-year-old with leaves mysteriously attached to his ankles, appears in their house.

From there we get the many ups and downs of parenthood and adoption ensuring an emotional rollercoaster.

Today, with a bunch of other bloggers I was able to interview one of the stars of the movie, Jennifer Garner. What a beautiful down to earth woman. My take aways from being in on the interview ( which was done via special webinar):

  • Jennifer loves Mom Bloggers, in fact she wanted to know why there are so many of us.
  • If she had to interview a person dead or alive she would want to interview someone who was involved in changing history, like Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln or Thomas Jefferson
  • The movie was filmed in Atlanta and she loved that as one of her best girlfriends lives there are it gave her the opportunity at the end of a long day to spend time with her.
  • She does live the work/life balance by making sure she does things that fill her up emotionally like her work with Save the Children
  • Her advice to a new Mom would be to take it easy on yourself and remember everything is a phase.
  • My question was about her favorite scene-the soccer scene. She said this was her favorite.

Just remember when you go to see it take the kleenex, as yes this movie does make men even cry. Now my question to you what dreams do you have or did you wish for your children before they existed? Let me know.

And in case you haven’t decided yet about the movie here is another peek at the trailer:
