The Odds Were Against Me

I got home, the sun was shining and it was nice and warm out.  Perfect weather to start my first session of hill training this season.  I laced up and got ready to go go go!

Got about 1.2K into the run when my Mom appears (in her car.)  She needed a place to go before her evening meeting.  Apparently she forgot to call earlier.  :)  Back to the house we go. It’s okay Mom I’m not mad!

After she left I went right back out and totally rocked it!  Warmed up with another 2K and then proceeded with the hill training.  Basically I just ran to the steepest road in my neighborhood and ran up and down it 4 times. My heart rate was through the roof near the end.    It was tough but after a few sessions it’s really going to make a huge difference in my endurance.   The end result, a little over 6K.

I got back to the house and tried to get my key out of the zipper thingy in the back of my shirt….. AND THE ZIPPER WOULDN’T WORK.  I went around to the back of the house, removed the shirt (it was my under layer) so that the neighbors wouldn’t get a show. ;)   Sat on the front steps and screwed with the zipper and it WOULDN’T BUDGE. I should note by this time it was getting pretty chilly out and I was only in my T-shirt.  Still no go.  After 10 mins of shivering I managed to rip the key through the material. (And yes, I opened the door with the key still in the shirt.)

Lesson learned.  I obviously need to buy something that I can hold my keys and attaches to me.  I saw something at Lulu that fit the bill but decided against it at the last minute.  Must go back soon.

Finally inside, shivering but still sweating.

We just finished Supper and I’m now enjoying a well deserved glass of vino.

Oh life, you truly do amuse me sometimes. :)

PS.  Just noticed when I tracked my run that since January 16th I’ve logged 150KMs!!!
