It’s never easy to sit and think about those less fortunate than us. In fact, most of us don’t until there’s a certain holiday around the corner or the commercials start playing or if there’s a call for help in a church bulletin. Sadly our busy lives usually get in the way of taking notice especially in a busy city where it seems like everyone is in such a hurry. Smiles and “come agains” are rushed and doors are rarely held. Some people go most of the day without seeing a friendly face or hearing a polite “excuse me” when trying to squeeze by.

But there is a gal in this busy city making a difference by giving inspiration….giving kindness….giving smiles. And all by sharing her words on paper with strangers. And she’s teaching others how to do the same thing.

Watch below..it’s only 90 seconds.

Isn’t this video inspiring?  I wanted to share it with you since it’s such a great reminder that “giving” and filling others’ “buckets” (as my son is learning in school) over the holidays doesn’t always have to be something with a monetary value attached.  It’s in our actions, our words and our smiles, our invitations to join us for a coffee or a christmas service.

But with the season, of course there are many in need of some extra help who may not have the means to buy their children even one gift for christmas. Many parents, especially single moms have to choose diapers and food over the “extras” or they have nothing at all and are spending the holidays in a shelter away from a dangerous situation at home.

As a LEGO DUPLO play agent, I was given the opportunity to bring my readers a wonderful giveaway that would have left one of you with 4 different LEGO DUPLO prizes.

Instead, I’ve decided to donate the prizes to a local women & children’s shelter to ensure that 4 children who have next to nothing will at least get to play with fun toys on Christmas morning.

Lego inspires creativity and is super durable and the prices are reasonable (sets range from $17.99-$39.99). So if you’re filling a Christmas hamper for a family with young children who are in need this year, keep in mind that LEGO DUPLO sets are always a great gift to add in.

Disclosure: I am a LEGO DUPLO Play Agent and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.

And remember:
