The suspicious death that occurred last night in Dartmouth has been ruled a homi­cide.

At approximately 10 p.m. on June 6, Hali­fax Regional Police responded to a report of a female in med­ical distress on a pathway in the 0-100 block of Albro Lake Road.

Officers locat­ed an 18-year-old fe­male who required im­mediate medical assi­stance.  EHS transpo­rted the female to hospital where she la­ter passed away from her injuries.

Based on today’s aut­opsy, the Medical Ex­aminer has ruled the death a homicide and identified the vic­tim as 18-year-old Chelsie Probert of Ha­lifax. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.

The investigation, led by the Homicide Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investiga­tion Division and in­cluding Forensic Ide­ntification officers, is ongoing and we remain on scene. At this time, we antici­pate being on scene throughout the day.
