The Voice – Top 6 Results

I think The Voice has been really strong this season, and while I’m incredibly disappointed with tonight’s results, I am looking forward to the finals. But still. Damn. I’m mad. Click through for the rest.

I’m really, really disappointed in the results from tonight. It was Melanie’s time to go and I’m fine with that. But Amanda? She’s SO GOOD. It is a crime that she didn’t win, let along not even make it into the finals. Argh! I’m mad.

Without Amanda left, I’m rooting for Cassadee. Yes, Trevin is an amazing singer. But he’s inconsistent in his performances and I just can’t root for him like I was rooting for Amanda. Cassadee is a good singer, she’s made great progress, and I can see her being a pop star today.

A few stray thoughts on the rest of the show:

• Amanda singing with NeYo was very good. I really like NeYo, and I thought Amanda more than held her own on stage with a star.
• Trevin and Terry’s performance was a bit dull, don’t you think? What song was that?
• Cassadee and Amanda singing “Breakaway” together was quite lovely. The song was a good fit for Cassadee, and Amanda was able to show off her softer side.
• I really, truly dislike Matchbox 20. And he barely let Nicholas and Trevin sing.
• The contestants mocking the coaches was my favorite. Adam’s shirt with the holes in it! Good one, Terry.
• Melanie took Christina’s advice! And it resulted in a freakin’ awesome duet. I’m glad Melanie was able to go out on a strong note.
