So after writing yesterday’s self-motivating post “NO MORE EXCUSES” I was feeling pretty good. I finally realized that I was only hurting myself with the way I was eating and that I needed to get back to the gym and get active again and to start feeling good about myself again.
Yesterday was suppose to be the first day of my new/old beginning and I was really looking forward to it with a beach volleyball tournament all day as it was a holiday here in Yellowknife.
It was a beautiful and sunny 27 degrees Celsius (who knew Yellowknife got so warm?) and my beach volleyball pairs partner and I had played seven sets of volleyball and were doing well and having fun! I was getting a great workout in, my cardio for the day, when we were just getting our fourth match underway and I went to dig the ball and sliced my foot open on a piece of glass or a sharp rock that was buried in the sand.
Three and a half hours later spent at the hospital I now have a nice gash out of the bottom of my right foot because they couldn’t stich me up due to my lovely callused feet. I’m about to show you the before and after pictures, so if your’e squeemish, scroll past them
Yeah, it’s pretty bad. Yes it hurts to walk. And NO, I’M NOT GOING TO USE THIS AS AN EXCUSE!
This is going to and will put a bit of a damper on my original plans to go running every morning, to play a lot of beach volleyball, a lot of softball and get back in to kettlebell and HIIT training, but it will only be temporary and I’m not going to let it discourage me or put me back in a place I don’t want to be.
I will NOT let this be an excuse!!
