Thousands of dollars worth of camera gear stolen

Police responded to a citizen initiated complaint of a man smashing a window at a business located on 1959 Vernon Street in Halifax.

At approximately 11:40 p.m. March 27th, 2022, police responded to the area of 1959 Vernon Street which is the business of Atlantic Photo Shop. Witnesses described seeing a man throw a brick through the window and gaining entry into the store. Upon calling 911 and watching the suspect leave, they noted that he was carrying product from the store.

The description of the suspect was limited due to the lighting conditions, but the man is described as wearing all dark clothing with his hood up and with gloves on.

Although patrol members were onscene quickly with a K-9 Police Service Dog, the suspect was not located at the time of this release.

Several thousands of dollars in equipment was taken in the break and enter. The investigation is in its early stages and will be taken over by detectives in the Criminal Investigative Division.
