Issue:

These products are being recalled due to the risk of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious illness. Food contaminated with Listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can still cause health problems. Symptoms of Listeria infection include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. Those most at risk are pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

What You Should Do:

  • Check your products: Verify if you have any of the recalled items.
  • Do not consume: Avoid consuming the affected products.
  • Dispose or return: Discard the recalled items or return them to the place of purchase.
  • Seek medical advice: If you believe you have become ill after consuming the recalled products, contact your healthcare provider.

Additional Information:

Food contaminated with Listeria can be particularly dangerous for pregnant women, potentially leading to severe health issues for the newborn or even stillbirth. The elderly and those with compromised immune systems are also at higher risk.

The Government of Canada advises that the affected products be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased. For more information, consumers are encouraged to monitor government updates and stay informed about new and updated recalls and alerts.
