Thousands of units of Kirkland Signature brand Greek Yogurt recalled due to mold

CFIA release:

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for Kirkland Signature brand Greek Yogurt (24 pack) due to the presence of mold.

The recall affects the 24 x 100 g size with the UPC code 0 96619 22215 5 and a best-before date of August 10, 2024 (batch code 8W 173).

This recall was initiated as a precautionary measure following reports of microbial contamination, specifically mold, which, while non-harmful, indicates spoilage.

The affected product was distributed across multiple provinces including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. Retailers and consumers are advised to stop selling, distributing, or using the product immediately.

General Mills Canada Co. is the recalling firm behind the product, and consumers are encouraged to contact the CFIA for more information. No health risks have been reported, and the recall is classified as a Class 3 recall, typically associated with quality or spoilage issues rather than severe health risks.

Consumers are advised to discard the product or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

For any inquiries, the public can reach the CFIA via the toll-free number 1-800-442-2342 or email information@inspection.gc.ca.
