Three arrested after multiple convenience store robberies

Police have charged two men and a woman in relation to a series of convenience store robberies that occurred earlier this year in the Halifax region.

At approximately 8:45 p.m. on March 23, police responded to a report of a robbery at Leonardo’s Convenience at 95 Caledonia Road in Dartmouth. Staff reported two men wearing masks, one armed with a hammer, entered the store and demanded money and cigarettes. The suspects left with an amount of money and cigarettes and fled the area.

At approximately 7:15 p.m. on April 10, police responded to a report of a robbery at the Irving gas station located at 200 Waverley Road in Dartmouth. A man entered the store, threatened a staff member with a knife and demanded money. The man then fled with an amount of money and cigarettes. 

At approximately 9:10 p.m. on April 11, police responded to a report of a robbery at the Irving gas station located at 1075 St. Margaret’s Bay Road in Beechville. A man entered the store, threatened a staff member with a knife and demanded money. The man then fled with an amount of money and cigarettes.   

Yesterday, two men and a woman were arrested in Halifax. A 30-year-old Halifax man is facing robbery (x1)  robbery with an offensive weapon (x 2) and disguise with intent (x 3) in relation to the three incidents. A 38-year-old Halifax man and a 34-year-old Halifax woman are each facing one count of robbery in relation to the April 11 incident.

All three are scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on September 2, 2020.
