Three fatal collisions over the weekend

This past weekend, the RCMP in Nova Scotia responded to three fatal collisions and one serious collision that resulted in life-threatening injuries. These collisions occurred in four different counties across the province.

The collisions are believed to be related to excessive speed and inattentiveness. One of these collisions also occurred in a construction zone where multiple construction workers were injured.

The four most common causal factors of serious and fatal collisions in Nova Scotia are aggressive driving, distracted driving, impaired driving and not using an available seatbelt. Every motorist has a responsibility to protect themselves and other road users. When you travel at safe speeds, stay focussed, drive sober and wear your seatbelt you increase the odds that you and everyone around you will stay safe on the roadway.

Our thoughts are with the victims’ families during this difficult time.
