Three men face numerous charges after shots were fired yesterday
afternoon in Dartmouth.

At 5:15 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of
Everett Street in Dartmouth. Responding officers observed a vehicle
being operated in a suspicious manner. Three men exited the vehicle and
tried to flee the area but were pursued and taken into custody. Two
other men who were apprehended in the area of Everett Street and
MacKenzie Street were later released without charges. Two firearms were
recovered and several spent casings were located on Everett Street. No
one was injured in the incident, however, a house on MacKenzie Street
was struck by a bullet.

Tremaine Fraser, 21, Landrel Beals, 19, and Shawntez Neco Downey, 19,
are scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial
Court today, each facing 14 weapons-related charges. Downey also faces
two charges of breach of firearms prohibition and three counts of breach
of recognizance. The investigation into the shooting is on-going.
