Three People Charged in Robberies

Police have laid charges in connection with three robberies and a break and enter in Dartmouth over the last two weeks.

Police have laid charges in connection with three robberies and a break and enter in Dartmouth over the last two weeks.

At 3:35 a.m. on November 10, police responded to a robbery of the Ultramar located at 219 Pleasant Street. A man entered the store, produced a knife and stole a quantity of cigarettes. He was seen fleeing the area with a woman in an orange Pontiac which was later recovered. A suspect was identified and he was arrested at 5:00 a.m. at a residence on Novawood Drive. The investigation continued and a woman was also identified and subsequently arrested.

As a result of the investigation by officers assigned the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section, charges were also laid in connection with two other robberies and a break and enter. The robberies took place at the Woodside Mini Mart on October 31 and the Ultramar on Main Street on November 7. The break and enter occurred on November 9 into a residence on Novawood Drive. A second woman was also arrested in relation to the robbery on November 7.

Thirty-year-old Robert Shane Rodgers of Dartmouth faces charges of robbery for all three incidents and a charge of break and enter. Twenty-six-year-old Tanya Marie Rodgers of Dartmouth is charged with robbery in connection with the incident on November 10. Twenty-six-year-old Jessica Marie Cleary of Dartmouth is charged with robbery in connection with the incident on November 7. All three people are scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
