Three youths arrested after Halifax District RCMP interrupt break and enter in progress, Cole Harbour, N.S.

Halifax District RCMP is investigating a break and enter on Lakeshire Cres. in Cole Harbour.

At approximately 6 a.m. on July 20, 2015, Cole Harbour RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress at a residence on Lakeshire Cres.

When officers arrived on the scene they found three male suspects on the front lawn of the residence. One of the suspects was arrested immediately while the other two fled from the scene. After a brief foot pursuit, the second suspect was aprehended and arrested. The third suspect ran into a wooded area but was quickly located with the assistance of an RCMP Police Service Dog. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects had attempted to gain entry to the residence but were unsuccessful.

A 16-year-old male youth from Dartmouth is charged with the following offences:

-Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public
-Possession of a Concealed Weapon
-Resisting Arrest
-Possession of Stolen Property
-Failure to Comply with an Undertaking
-Breach of Probation

A 17-year-old male youth from Cole Harbour is charged with the following offences:

-Mischief
-Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
-Failure to Comply with an Undertaking

A 17-year-old male youth from Cole Harbour is charged with the following offences:

-Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public
-Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
-Possession of a Concealed Weapon
-Resisting Arrest

All three male youths appeared in Dartmouth Provincial Court on July 20, 2015. The two youths from Cole Harbour were released on strict conditions including a curfew, and are scheduled to appear in Halifax Youth Court on August 6, 2015. The Dartmouth youth was held in custody overnight and appeared in Youth Court today. He has been released from custody on strict conditions including a curfew and is to appear in Halifax Youth Court on August 20, 2015.
