Tickets for the 2018 Nova Scotia Tattoo on Sale Now

The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo returns with a new beat as tickets go on sale today for its 40thanniversary season.

“Our storytelling has always been driven by the heroes and legends who have paved the way. Next year is an important year for many Nova Scotian – and Canadian – heroes and legends, so we decided to theme our show around that,” says Jennie King, Managing Director and Executive Producer of the Nova Scotia Tattoo.

The Nova Scotia Tattoo will commemorate the end of the First World War, the Battle of the Atlantic (the longest military campaign of the Second World War), and Women in Service.

“It was especially important to honour women, so many trailblazers paved the way here in Nova Scotia: Viola Desmond, Mona Louise Parsons, the suffragettes, the list goes on,” says King.

It’s also the production’s 40th anniversary next year, and we’ve planned for a ceilidh to kick off each show.

“A tattoo was once a Dutch phrase meaning ‘turn off the taps’, but next year we’re turning them on,” says King. “This was supposed to be a one-off event, and we’re so grateful that we’re still here 40 years later, so we want to celebrate.”

The celebration will be extra special as the Tattoo just wrapped its 2017 production, one that yielded a record box office and high scores from the audience.

The 2018 Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo presents Heroes and Legends will take place from June 26th to July 2nd in the Scotiabank Centre. Tickets are on sale now.
