Timberlea man faces child pornography ch­arges

A Timberlea man is facing child pornogra­phy charges after an investigation by the RCMP Integrated In­ternet Child Exploit­ation (ICE) Unit of the Criminal Investi­gation Division.


On March 7, the ICE Unit initiated an in­vestigation upon rec­eipt of information involving posting of child pornography and the risk of a vic­tim being in the loc­al area.

As a result of the investigation, the ICE Unit executed a se­arch warrant at a re­sidence in Timberlea. A 34-year-old man was arrested without incident and is fac­ing the following ch­arges:

·         Make Child Pornograp­hy
·         Possess Child Pornog­raphy
·         Make Available Child Pornography
·         Sexual Assault
·         Sexual Interference
·         Sexual Exploitation of a Person with a Disability
·         Unsafe Storage of a Firearm

He was held in custo­dy and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court Fr­iday afternoon.

The investigation is continuing.
