Time Springs Forward Sunday, March 11

Nova Scotians will enjoy a little more sunlight when the clocks move forward into daylight time this weekend.

People are reminded to set their clocks ahead one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 11, or on Saturday evening before they go to bed.

Most cellphones do this automatically, but other devices such as microwave ovens, car clocks, watches and automatic timer lights should be checked.

This is also a good time to take on some other important routine tasks like cleaning dryer vents to prevent fires and changing batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Smoke detectors should be tested monthly and replaced every 10 years.
