Top Knots And Polka Dots

While touring around Montreal last week it was quite literally an oven most of the time.  Having left Halifax at a whopping 8 degrees I will tell you that I was not prepared for that kind of heat or humidity (mentally or physically).

You wouldn’t know it blog reader, but these images were actually taken quite late into the evening, but the temperature was still extremely warm (despite the fact that it was clearly about to rain buckets, and lightning was shooting across the sky).

FEATURED ITEMS: Blouse, Forever 21 (similar). Cardigan Sweater, Forever 21 (available here). Shorts, Gap. Keds, via Winners. Bag, c/o Winners. Watch c/o Bulova (stay tuned next week to learn how you could win one). Sunnies, Black Market Vintage. Necklace, H&M. Earrings, Kate Spade.
Because I was only in Montreal for such a short time I was determined to see as much of it as I could. These photos were snapped while on my way to tour around Vieux (old) Montreal (you can see Notre Dame in the background of first photo). It’s honestly such a beautiful place you almost don’t need to do anything at all, but just walk around.  Not that I would recommend that you do that (when it’s lightning) as having watched the news the following day I learned a man was struck by lightning, so mayyyyyyyyybe it wasn’t the best life choice to be out in the storm.  Lesson learned.
We also got caught in a downpour which admittingly was inevitable, as you could tell by the massively dark storm clouds that it was JUST about to happen any minute. We managed to pop into a burger place Burger Bar Crescent (which was pretty close to our hotel), and grabbed a bit to eat.

While eating our dinner it was as if the heavens opened up, and it was just gushing out water from the sky. The streets were pouring with water, and everyone was waiting indoors for the storm to pass. Luckily I’m a slow eater, so by the time I was done it was just sprinkling, so I tucked my (new) suede purse under my sweater and made a mad dash to the hotel. I mean you gotta protect what’s yours! Am I right?

It is kind of funny getting caught in the rain though don’t you think blog reader? I don’t know what it is, but I can’t seem not to laugh hysterically when it rains like that. There’s some hilarious to me about the severity and panic that ensues when it rain uncontrollably.  Maybe it’s just me.
Anyways thunder and lightning aside I had SO much fun in Montreal; it truly is a beautiful place, and I can’t wait to go back again. Most likely during the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival again. Man that was fun(ny). But if you’re like me and you’re always looking for more opportunities to travel you might be interested to know the you can earn Airmiles while shopping online.

For instance, if you were shopping for my blouse and sweater I’m wearing above from Forever 21, or the shorts from The Gap (and you downloaded the Airmiles Toolbar) it would prompt you where you can earn miles online. It’s honestly so easy because it does all the hard work for you, and you earn points for items you’d be buying anyway duhhh. Here’s some more information about how you can collect miles while you shop >> Airmilesshops.ca and some examples of what it looks like in your browser below (note the little airmiles prompts for both).

Hope you’re enjoying these recap posts blog reader! I’ll be posting about Toronto next week so STAY TUNED! Also it’s my birthday next week, so I’ll be running some fun giveaways (you gotta say it like Oprah to get the full affect).
