Toronto Fashion Week | What I Wore Day 1

wide brim hats, envy clothing, 525 america, joe fresh, beck and boosh
I left Halifax and its nine feet high snow banks thinking I was saying goodbye to Winter, and headed towards some kind of resemblance of Spring.

Boy was I wrong. Unfortunately the temperatures in Toronto were seasonally cool, and minus 10 on the first day of fashion week which really threw a wrench into my sartorial plans.

On the first day of fashion week I decided on a very simple outfit; both in an effort to stay warm, as well as to not show all my cards on the first day. I threw together a tea length thick fabric skirt (one of my personal favorites from Banana Republic that I really don’t wear enough), a fur vest, a long t-shirt, a wide brim hat, and heels.

It was simple, but I’ve found that when it comes to dressing for fashion week it’s really important to slowly build up your outfits towards the end of the week. If you wear your favorite outfit the first day you’ll be bored the rest of the week.

Also for the record these shoes from Nine West are MAJOR comfortable. I wore them ALL day, and no one heard a single complaint out of me.

FEATURED ITEMS: Necklace and Bracelet, c/o Beck and Boosh. Hat, Joe Fresh (old). Tee, H&M. Vest, 525 America via c/o Envy Clothing. Skirt, Banana Republic. Bag and Shoes, c/o Nine West Shoe Studio (current). Watch c/o Daniel Wellington (available here).

Well that’s a wrap on #WMCFW Day 1; stay tuned for more of my looks and recaps coming to the blog soon!
