Traffic Delays – Frostbite 5-Miler Event

Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents there may be some traffic delays in the Lower Sackville area during the Frostbite 5-Miler event on Sunday, Feb. 21.

The race is expected to draw several hundred walkers and runners. The event will begin just before noon on Kingfisher Way, near Sackville High School.

Participants will turn left on Metropolitan Avenue, left on Glendale Drive, left on Chandler Drive, continuing past Mowat Crescent to where the street turns into Caudle Park Crescent, left on Nelson Drive, left on Cobequid Road, left on First Lake Drive and continuing until they return to Metropolitan Avenue and finally Kingfisher Way.

The race is expected to wrap up by 2 p.m. RCMP will be on hand to assist with traffic control throughout the event. Motorists should expect some delays and are advised to find alternative routes, if possible. The municipality regrets any inconvenience these delays may cause.
