Traffic Delays – Light the Night Walk

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect rolling street closures and some traffic delays Saturday, Oct. 27, during the Light the Night Walk for Leukemia and Lymphoma, in downtown Halifax.

More than 2,500 people are expected to take part in the walk, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Garrison Grounds along Sackville Street. From there, participants will head south on South Park Street, turning right on South Street, right on Robie Street, right on College Street, left on Summer Street, and right on Sackville Street, finishing at the Garrison Grounds at approximately 9 p.m.

Halifax Regional Police will be on hand to escort the walkers and help direct traffic along the route. Motorists are advised to find alternative routes if possible, and if they are travelling through the area, to drive carefully and be aware of the increased pedestrian traffic.
