Traffic disruptions this Sunday at Joe Howe Drive and Highway 102 (BiHi) intersection

Motorists connecting to Highway 102 from Joseph Howe Drive will face delays this Sunday as traffic signals at the intersection with Highway 102 will be flashing read from 7am – 3pm while repairs are being made.

This intersection has become a sore spot among local drivers, often leading to significant backups, especially for those making the right turn from Joe Howe Drive onto Highway 102. It’s frequently noted on social media in the city that vehicles improperly enter the Bayers Road/Joe Howe intersection during busy periods, blocking others from proceeding even when they have the right of way, with the Bayers Joe Howe/Highway 102 intersection not allowing right turns on red. Many drivers turn right illegally.

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising motorists to anticipate delays and consider using alternative routes during the repair period.
