Traffic Signals at Intersection of North Park/Cunard/Agricola Streets Now Operational

Thursday, July 17, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that the traffic signals at the intersection of North Park, Cunard and Agricola streets are working once again.

North Park Street remains closed between Cunard and Cogswell to accommodate construction on the first of two roundabouts in that area.

The lights at the intersection of North Park, Cunard and Agricola are temporary traffic signals that will be in place for the duration of the first phase of construction, which is expected to last five weeks.

Construction will continue in the weeks after, until early October, requiring further closures on sections of North Park and the surrounding streets. Details of those closures will be shared with the public as the project progresses.

The crosswalks at the Cunard intersection will be maintained throughout the five-week closure. However the sidewalk will be closed on the east side of North Park Street, between Cunard and Cornwallis streets.

Pedestrians and cyclists are encouraged to use the active transportation path on the Halifax Common that runs along the length of North Park Street.
