Traffic stop results in drug trafficking charges

At 9:40 p.m. Halifax Regional Police’s West Division Community Response Officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle, at Moirs Mill Road and Bedford Highway.

Witnesses say two officers approached the vehicle on bikes. The vehicle was parked by the old Moirs Mill tourist centre.

Further investigation by officers resulted in marijuana, scales, cell phones, drug paraphernalia and cash being seized from the vehicle.

Three youths and one adult have been charged with trafficking and will be released on conditions to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.
