Kings District RCMP is conducting an investigation into an accident that caused life-threatening injuries to an eight-year-old boy.
The boy who was involved in a tragic accident with his lawn tractor on February 3, is currently on life support so that his organs can be donated.
The accident, which was reported via 911, occurred at approximately 4 p.m. near a home on Canaan Rd. First aid was administered by two adults and two RCMP officers who arrived on scene. Volunteer firefighters also arrived, and assisted as well.
Once EHS arrived at the scene arrangements were made to send the boy via LifeFlight to Halifax for further medical treatment.
Police are conducting an investigation into the circumstances that led to the accident, however the matter is not considered suspicious at this time.
Kings District RCMP would like to thank the many first responders who attended the scene and assisted.
