Transit service notices posted ahead of November changes

**** Halifax Media Release

You may have noticed service notices like this one going up on bus stops! Pretty soon, all bus stops impacted by the Nov. 25 service changes will feature these notices.

If a service notice says NEW Route or NEW Corridor Route, that’s a new route being introduced to the network. Note that some route numbers will be reused in order to group numbers geographically and adhere to the MFTP service types (Corridor, Local, Express, Rural).

If a service notice says Service Discontinued, all the routes listed to the left of it will be removed from the network on Nov 25.

If it says Service Discontinued at this Stop, the routes listed to the left of it will still exist in the network but no longer service the stop.

If a service notice says Route Adjusted, the routes listed to the left of it will remain in the network and service the stop, but there will be changes to the routing elsewhere along the route.

Service notices may also feature bay or stop relocation instructions.

November 2019 Service Adjustments

On November 25, 2019, Halifax Transit will introduce large-scale service changes in Sackville, Bedford, Dartmouth, and Halifax Mainland South as part of the Moving Forward Together Plan. These service changes are outlined in Halifax Transit’s 2019/20 Annual Service Plan, which was approved by Regional Council in April 2019.

Below, you’ll see brief route descriptions, general frequencies, service spans and maps for each new route. Minor route adjustments are outlined as well.

Explore your new route options with a route comparison table here, see detailed new route descriptions here, and find answers to frequently asked questions here.

Route schedules and a system map will become available in the coming months.
