turning hand-painted watercolors into animated e-cards

I have a handful of friends and family who opt for the e-card/email combo instead of sending out a traditional Christmas card. And while there are many options for e-cards it’s exhausting to look through all the sites trying to find a quality animated e-card.

Husband and wife team, Timothy and Frederikke of Ojolie, do something incredibly unique – Frederikke is a Danish artist who creates stunning watercolor paintings – then her husband Timothy digitally animates the paintings so they come to life with music and dance.

I love this Celestial Happy New Year’s e-card – the watercolor background is so stunning! Everytime I look through the cards, I’m amazed that Ojolie is able to let the original artwork shine through while digital animation plays on top of the painting:

You can search by category to easily find cards that appeal to you. I’m drawn to anything pretty and pink, so naturally I clicked on flower e-cards and found this pretty, vintage-esque birthday e-card. If only my own watercolor paintings looked as beautiful as this!
