Two accidents and a robbery

Injury Accident

At 8:34 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to an injury accident on the Bedford Highway at Bayview Drive. Regional Fire Service had to extricate two persons from a vehicle which was pinned against a power pole by a large pick up truck.  The driver and passenger of the truck where not injured and did not require any medical attention. The two occupants of the car,males ages 26 and 34 were transported to the QE2 with serious but non life threatening injuries.  Accident Investigation and Forensic Identification were called to the scene to assist in the investigation.

Robbery

At approximately 0050 am Halifax Regional Police responded to the Old Triangle located at 5136 Prince Street in Halifax for a robbery in progress. A male wearing a mask and gloves carrying a knife entered the business and threatened an employee with the knife. The employee fled the business and called police. Officers checked the building but could not locate the suspect, the area was checked by officers and K9 but the suspect could not be located.

The suspect is believed to be a white male, 6 feet tall, grey hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants wearing a black mask and carrying a knife. The investigation in continuing.

Injury

At 131 am Halifax Regional Police responded to the MacKay Bridge Dartmouth side for a report of an injury motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival a pickup truck was observed in one of the lanes, it was received extensive damage and there was extensive damage to two toll booths. The driver was removed from the vehicle by EHS and Fire Service personnel and transported to the QE2 with what appeared to be life threatening injuries. Accident Investigation and Forensic Identification officers were called out and are still on scene. The driver, a 52 year old male, remains in hospital with serious injuries. The investigation is continuing.
