Two adults arrested for assisting suspects in Ahmad Maher Al Marrach’s murder

HRP release:

Halifax Regional Police has charged two adults in relation to the homicide of 16-year-old Ahmad Maher Al Marrach that occurred on April 22 in Halifax.

Yesterday, on August 28, investigators with the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division arrested two people as they had provided false information to investigators and assisted the accused in avoiding arrest in the homicide of Ahmad Maher Al Marrach.

The 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman are scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face one count each of accessory to commit an indictable offence.

Two 16-year-old youths and two 14-year-old youths were previously charged with one count each of second-degree murder. As the four youths in this case are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), Halifax Regional Police are unable to provide further details.

The investigation is ongoing, and investigators are asking anyone who has information in relation to Ahmad’s homicide to call police at 902-490-5020
