Two arrested after jewelry store robbery

Halifax Regional Police have charged two men in relation to an armed robbery in Bedford yesterday.

On March 13, at approximately 1:55 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a robbery in progress at Charm Diamond Centres at 1658 Bedford Highway. Two men with hammers entered the store, smashed jewelry cases and stole merchandise. An off-duty Halifax Regional Police Officer was on scene and arrested one of the suspects. The second suspect threatened the off-duty officer before fleeing the area in a vehicle.

Officers arrested the second suspect in Halifax later in the day without further incident.

Christopher Dennis Cameron, 39 years-old, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face the following charges:

Robbery
Disguise with intent
Resist arrest

Larson Munongo, 24 years-old, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face the following charges:

Robbery
Disguise with Intent
Uttering threats
Breach of a probation order
