Two charged with weapons offences in West End Halifax, Duggers broken into

Two males and one young offender were charged in separate incidents last night.

Weapons

At 11:21 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to the 3300 block of Federal Avenue for an weapons call. Police attended and learned the victim had been approached by two males wearing masks, one with a handgun. The males demanded the victims belongings but none were turned over, the two males then fled the area on foot. Responding officers observed the males and one was apprehended after a short foot chase. The second male was arrested at his residence without incident a short time later. Officers checked the area and recovered a plastic pistol. One adult male and one young offender male will be attending court to face numerous weapons and robbery charges.

Break and Enter

At 1:40 am a citizen called police to report a break and enter at Duggers located at 5486 Spring Garden Road in Halifax. The male smashed a window and took some jackets.  Halifax Regional Police Officers responded an located the suspect in the area of Sackville Street and Grafton Street. The male was arrested without incident and the property that was stolen was recovered a short distance away. An adult male will be attending court at a later date to face charges of Break and Enter and Fail to comply with a probation order.
