Two men arrested, drugs seized, in two separate investigations, Stellarton, N.S.

Police in Pictou County have arrested two men for drug possession after two separate investigations.

At approximately 10 a.m. Friday, the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (PCISCEU), with assistance from the Stellarton Police Service, executed a search warrant at a residence on Acadia St.

in Stellarton. Police seized marijuana plants from the back yard that were growing in plain sight from the street. A 26-year-old male was later arrested and faces charges related to the illegal production and possession of marijuana.

In an unrelated investigation, the PCISCEU observed a 48-year-old male breaching his parole at a residence on Maple St. in Stellarton. The male was arrested and cocaine was seized as a result of the investigation. Police later executed a search warrant at his residence on Coll St. in Stellarton and seized approximately one kilogram of cocaine and a quantity of cash. The man is currently in custody and faces charges of Possession and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine.

Both investigations are continuing.
