Two men face charges after an incident Wednesday in Halifax Harbour.

The incident occurred at 2:11 p.m. Wednesday after the operator attempted
to tie up his boat at a  private dock along the Halifax waterfront. They
were told they could not tie up at that location and had to move. A
witness noted that the operator appeared to be intoxicated and notified
an officer who arrived on his bicycle. The boat pulled away from the
dock and a second person took over at the wheel. The officer followed
the boat until it docked near Purdy’s Wharf. At this time two men were
arrested for impaired operation and transported to police headquarters.

Two Eastern Passage men, aged 43 and 51 are scheduled to appear in
Halifax Provincial Court at a later date. Both men face charges of
impaired operation of a vessel and refusing to provide a breath sample.
