Two Men Face Charges after a Weekend Shooting

From HRPD:
Two men face multiple charges after a shooting that took place Sunday morning in Dartmouth.

At approximately 2 a.m. police were called to a disturbance at Dooly’s on Portland Street, however, the parties involved had left prior to police arrival. A short time later, three people, two men and a woman aged 24, 21 and 19 respectively, arrived at the Dartmouth General Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators determined that all three victims were wounded in the disturbance at Dooly’s.

As a result of the efforts of the responding Patrol Officers and the hard work by the various officers from the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, two male suspects were identified. The men were located and arrested at a home on Green Village Lane in Dartmouth and one of them was found to be in possession of a prohibited knife. A search warrant was obtained and the residence was searched. Officers seized a modified long barrelled weapon, two hand guns, one automatic pistol, ammunition as well as marijuana, ecstasy, steroids and other unidentified drugs.

Twenty-six-year-old Christopher Lorne Vandette of Dartmouth faces a total of 40 charges consisting of three counts of attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault, five counts of breach of recognizance, misleading police and numerous weapons related charges. Twenty-five-year-old Charles John Noddin of Halifax faces 12 charges consisting of two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and a number of other weapons related offences. They are both scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
