Two men face drug charges, Beechville, N.S.

The Nova Scotia RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime Unit have arrested two men following searches yesterday. At approximately 4 p.m, officers approached two vehicles in the Beechville Lakeside Park after observing suspicious drug activity.

The Nova Scotia RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime Unit have arrested two men following searches yesterday.

At approximately 4 p.m, officers approached two vehicles in the Beechville Lakeside Park after observing suspicious drug activity.

As a result, a 35 year-old Beechville man and a 28-year-old Halifax man were arrested. During a search of one of the vehicles a quantity of Cannabis Resin and bear spray were seized. Further investigation led members of the Serious and Organized Crime Unit to search two residences in Beechville. During these searches, Cocaine, Cannabis Resin, Marijuana, a handgun and a large quantity of cash were seized.

The 35-year-old Beechville man is facing a charge of Trafficking and remains in custody. The 28 year-old man is facing one charge for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and has been released on conditions. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on October 18th, 2014.

The investigation is ongoing.
