At approximately 9:15 pm, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery in the 2100 block of Barrington St, Halifax. A man from Halifax reported that he was walking near this location, when he was called over to speak with someone known to him. After the conversation had begun the man struck the victim in the head with a rock, knocking him to the ground. Once on the ground the man removed money from the victim and fled the area toward Brunswick St. The 28 year old man was taken to hospital for observation and treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The investigation will continue and be conducted by members of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division. The suspect is known to the victim and is described as a white man in his 40’s, the clothing description is currently unknown.
16-176488 At approximately 11:40 pm, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a break and enter in the 0-100 block of Emma Ct, in Dartmouth. HRP were advised that 3 masked men were inside the residence and one was armed with a crow bar and one of the suspects had demanded money from one of the residents. Upon HRP arrival it was learned that the 3 men had fled the home after being chased by one of the residents. Police confirmed that a door to the residence had been forced open by the suspects, however, it is believed that the suspects did not obtain any property from the residence. There were no injuries. The offence will be investigated by members of Integrated Criminal Investigation Division. The suspects are described as two men in black clothing, one wearing a full face mask and a third suspect wearing dark pants and a grey hooded sweater.
