Two pedestrians hit in crosswalks yesterday

Two drivers were issued tickets after crosswalk incidents yesterday.
Shortly after 5 p.m. a 27-year-old Halifax woman was struck by a vehicle as she crossed Flamingo Drive at Bedford Highway. She was checked by paramedics and did not require further medical treatment. The driver, a 51-year-old Halifax man, was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
At 10:25 p.m. a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while crossing Quinpool Road at Oxford Street. The victim, a 19-year-old Halifax man was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver, a 38-year-old Timberlea man, was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
