Two people die in house fire

Digby RCMP is investigating a fatal house fire that occurred on Sissiboo Rd. in Weymouth Mills.

On March 3, 2023, shortly after 6 a.m., Digby RCMP, fire and EHS, responded to a house fire on Sissiboo Rd. in Weymouth Mills. Upon arrival at the scene RCMP officers observed that the home was fully engulfed in flames. Volunteer firefighters from numerous fire departments were able to extinguish the fire and the remains of two people were located inside the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation with assistance from Nova Scotia Fire Marshal’s Office, the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office.
