Halifax man arrested for Impaired Driving following hit and run

A Halifax man was arrested for Impaired Driving after driving on the wrong side of the highway and being involved in a hit and run collision.

Just after 10 p.m. on December 1, Halifax Regional Police (HRP) was dispatched to a complaint of a car driving inbound in the outbound lanes of the Bedford By-pass. HRP located the vehicle involved, a damaged Chrysler PT Cruiser, parked in the median near Dartmouth Rd.

The same car and driver were identified to have been in a hit and run collision earlier that evening, so the man was issued an additional Summary Offence Ticket for Failing to Immediately Stop at the Scene of Collision.

The man was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on February 5, 2020.
