Two separate incidents overnight: Stolen vehicle, arrest in Dartmouth / Weapon complaint in Halifax

Stolen vehicle

On April 5, 2019 at 7:56pm Halifax Regional Police received a report that a vehicle had been stolen from the 50 block of Caledonia Rd, Dartmouth.​

The suspect was identified when the initial call was received and this person was being monitored by an anklebracelet.​  The location of the suspect and vehicle was able to be determined from this bracelet.​

The vehicle was located on Eileen Stubbs Ave in Dartmouth.​ When officers attempted to stop the vehicle the driver refused to stop.​ Officers did not pursue the vehicle.​

A short time later the vehicle was located abandoned on Booth St in Dartmouth and K-9 was able to track and locate the suspect a short distance from the vehicle.​

A 31 year old woman will face charges of prohibited driving, flight from peace officer,​ fail to comply with probation order,​ take motor vehicle without consent and dangerous operation of a conveyance.

Weapon complaint 

On April 6, 2019 at 2:06am Halifax Regional Police received a call of a man outside an address in the 100 Block of Main Ave, Halifax that was in possession of a knife and was threating to stab someone.​

The man was located and arrested at the scene and was in possession of a baseball bat and a knife.​ No one was injured as a result of the incident.​

The accused and victim are know to one another.​ A 21 year old man will appear at a later date to face charges of uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
