Halifax Police were kept very busy overnight with three separate incidents as noted below.

Shooting:

At 2:00 am Halifax regional Police responded to a call of a disturbance and shots fired outside of Dooley’s located at 590 Portland St in Dartmouth. According to witnesses there was a disturbance between 2 groups inside of the business. The disturbance continued on to the outside of the business and at one point one person fired shots from a handgun at the other group. As a result a 24 year old male and a 21 year old female were taken to hospital with non- life threatening gunshot wounds. There are no suspects in custody at this time. The Halifax Integrated General Investigation Section is currently in the initial stages of the investigation. 11-54505
 
Assault With a Weapon:

At approximately 10 pm Halifax regional police responded to a call of a group of youths assaulting a male near the bus stop at 6960 Mumford Rd in Halifax. It appears that the 57 year old male victim had been sprayed in the face with some type of sensory irritant. A short distance from the scene two male suspects were arrested for the incident. A 14 year old male and a 15 year old male will appear in court at a later date to face charges of assault with a weapon. The victim did not require any hospital treatment. 11-54422

At approximately 1:00 am a 21 year old female was walking in the area of Prince Albert Rd and Ochterloney St. She walked passed a group of young people when they started to yell at her about her hand bag and what she had inside of it. 2 Females from the group then ran up to the victim and asked her for cigarettes. As the victim was taking a cigarette out of her hand bag, the 2 females began assaulting her, throwing her to the ground and removing all the cigarettes from her bag. The victim got up and ran home to call police. Halifax Regional Police responded to the area and arrested the 2 suspects. A 15 year old female and a 16 year old female are in custody and will be attending court at a later date to face charges of robbery. 11-54464
