Two suspects sought in overnight jewelry store theft

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a break and enter into a jewelry store that occurred earlier this month and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects.

On January 2 police received a report of a break and enter that had occurred at La Mine d’Or Jewellers at 276 Bedford Highway. At approximately 12:30 a.m. that morning, two men broke into the business through the wall of an adjoining business that was also broken into. The suspects stole a quantity of jewelry and investigators believe that they fled the area in a vehicle.

The first suspect is described as approximately 5’9” tall, 250 lbs., wearing a blue pullover sweater with a “Hurley” logo on the front. The second suspect is described as a approximately 5’11” tall, 170 lbs and was wearing a grey zip up sweater. The suspect vehicle is described as gold coloured Toyota Camry or Corolla.
