HRP release:
Police have charged two youth following a robbery in Bedford on Monday.
On September 14 at approximately 5 p.m., police received a report of a robbery at Canadian Tire, located at 150 Damascus Road in Bedford. It was reported that two people wearing masks entered the store and broke into a display case containing pellet guns. During the incident, staff were threatened with a firearm. Both suspects fled in a vehicle with the stolen merchandise. There were no reported physical injuries.

Officers located the vehicle nearby and arrested both suspects and the driver. It was determined that the driver was a rideshare driver who was not involved. He was released at the scene without charges. During the arrest, officers located and seized the stolen merchandise and a pellet gun believed to have been used during the incident.
A 16-year-old youth appeared in Halifax provincial youth court yesterday to face charges of:
- Robbery with firearm
- Disguise with intent
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00
- Possess weapon dangerous to public peace (x2)
- Carry concealed weapon (x2)
- Breach of release order (x3)
A 17-year-old youth appeared in Halifax provincial youth court yesterday to face charges of:
- Robbery with firearm
- Disguise with intent
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00
- Possess weapon dangerous to public peace (x2)
- Carry concealed weapon (x1)
- Breach of probation order (x6)
- Possess firearm contrary to order (x3)
