Two Youth Facing Charges After Weapon Incident – Auburn, NS

RCMP in Kings District is continuing the investigation into a weapons call that occurred near a school in Auburn yesterday.

 

At approximately 12:50 p.m. yesterday, police responded to an incident that occurred near West Kings High School. The information received indicated there were individuals in the area with a firearm. Three male youths and one male adult were arrested by police at the scene, however, after further investigation, the adult and one of the youths were released without charge. Two of the youths are facing the following charges:

  • A 17-year-old male youth from Kingston is facing charges of Careless Use of a Firearm x 2 and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
  • A 15-year-old male youth from Auburn is facing charges of Careless Use of a Firearm x 2, Pointing a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and Fail to Comply with Conditions.

RCMP seized a .22 calibre rifle and ammunition from a residence near the school.

 

Both youths were released from police custody late last night. They will appear April 28, 2016 in Kentville Provincial Court.
