Update: Charges laid in Grand River fatal crash, Richmond, N.S.

RCMP have laid charges as a result of the investigation into a motor vehicle crash in Grand River on June 21st, 2013.

Police have charged the 16-year-old female driver, who cannot be named due to her age, with three Motor Vehicle Act offences: Operating a Motor Vehicle with too many people in the vehicle, Operating a Motor Vehicle while not having an experienced driver in the passenger seat and Driving in a Careless and Imprudent Manner. She will be appearing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial court on January 8th, 2014 to enter a plea.

The single vehicle crash on Smith’s Road, Grand River injured five of the six occupants, later claiming the life of 17-year-old Allan Lafford of the Potlotek First Nation Reserve.
